🐾The story of our French Bulldog and his journey to become a therapy dog
At NooSpot, we believe therapy can be a warm, safe, and deeply human experience — even when your companion has four legs and a tail.
Freud, our young French Bulldog, joined our lives in 2025 and quickly became a natural part of our therapeutic environment. From the very beginning, he showed remarkable emotional sensitivity, a desire for connection, and an intuitive awareness of the emotional tone in the room.
🎓 Freud's Training
Freud is currently undergoing systematic training to become a certified therapy dog. His training includes:
Socializing with people of all ages
Learning to stay calm in environments with various sounds, scents, and stimuli
Developing non-reactive and emotionally stable behavior
Getting used to the therapy room and various interaction styles
Our approach is rooted in animal-assisted therapy, a scientifically supported method that leverages the human-animal bond to promote emotional regulation, reduce anxiety, and build therapeutic trust.
🧠 Why a Therapy Dog?
Research shows that therapy dogs can:
Reduce anxiety and lower blood pressure
Boost oxytocin — the “bonding hormone”
Help adults, teens, and children feel safe and accepted
Encourage emotional expression, even in difficult sessions
Freud already accompanies selected sessions — always respectfully, and only with client consent. Some people pet him quietly. Others feel better just knowing he’s there.
💙 A Gentle Path to Connection
Freud’s presence doesn’t replace therapy — it enhances it. For some, he’s the first step toward feeling at ease in a therapeutic space. For others, he becomes a comforting presence in their journey toward healing.
At NooSpot, we’re proud to support him as he grows into his role as a therapy dog. If you visit us, he might be the first to greet you — with a look full of warmth.
